The rock spike attachment allows holes to be bored in the most difficult terrain, pre-making holes with ease even in hard concrete, rocky soil and hard packed surfaces. It is especially valuable when driving large diameter posts, allowing a hole to be predrilled which makes driving even the thickest posts a cinch. The spike is conveniently mounted on a swing arm, making for easy one-handed control.
The rock spike is available as an optional attachment on Model 3 and Model 4 post drivers.
The first video shows a hole drilled and post driven in a concrete yard using a rock spike mounted our Model 4 post driver. The entire procedure from flat concrete to a post driven deeply and securely in place took less than 10 minutes.
This second video shows the rock spike again, this time being used to pre drill a hole before an extremely large post is driven into a hard, packed surface.
